Terms of Service
Effective 17 September 2026
1. Who we are
CoachLayer is a product of ZON, the team behind the ZON training app, based in France. These terms are a contract between ZON ("we", "us") and the person or company that creates a CoachLayer account ("you"). You can reach us at coachlayer.justzon.com/contact.
2. What the service is
CoachLayer is a fitness coaching API: a set of versioned HTTP endpoints (coach chat, readiness briefs, workout analysis, adaptive sessions, weekly reports, coach insights, video form checks and program import) plus a developer portal for managing API keys, usage and billing. You integrate the API into your own product; your users are yours, not ours.
3. Accounts and API keys
- You must provide accurate signup information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys.
- API keys are secrets. Do not ship them in client-side code, commit them to public repositories, or share them outside your team. If a key leaks, revoke it in the dashboard immediately.
- You must be at least 18 and using the service for business or development purposes. CoachLayer is a developer product, not a consumer app.
4. The sandbox
The sandbox tier is free, requires no card, and exists so you can evaluate the API against real data shapes. It has credit, rate and anti-abuse limits, and we may pause, throttle or reclaim sandbox capacity at any time. The sandbox carries no availability commitment.
5. Credits, fees and billing
- Usage is metered in credits. The cost of each endpoint in credits, and the price of each plan, are published on the pricing page, which is part of these terms.
- Paid plans are billed as subscriptions through our payment provider, Stripe. Prices are in USD; taxes are added where applicable. Euro amounts shown on the site are indicative only.
- Unused monthly credits do not roll over unless the pricing page says otherwise. Overage, where offered, is billed at the published per-credit rate.
- We can change prices with at least 30 days notice; changes apply from your next billing period. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- resell raw access to the API as your product (integrating CoachLayer into a real product of your own is exactly the point; a thin proxy that just re-exposes our endpoints is not),
- attempt to extract, reverse engineer or reconstruct the underlying systems, prompts, schemas or evaluation methods behind the API,
- use the outputs to build or train a competing fitness coaching model or API,
- circumvent metering, rate limits, sandbox limits or security controls,
- send content that is unlawful, that you have no right to send, or that contains personal data you are not allowed to process,
- use the service to harm, harass or mislead anyone.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
7. Your data, your users
For content your systems send to the API, you are the data controller and we act as a processor: we process request content transiently to produce the response and do not use it to train models. Usage metadata (endpoint, credits, timestamps, request identifiers) is retained for metering, billing and abuse prevention. Details, including our subprocessors and your rights, are in the Privacy Policy. If you need a signed data processing agreement, contact us.
8. Intellectual property
We own the service: the API, portal, documentation, benchmark and brand. You own your application and your data. You own the outputs the API returns for your requests, and you are responsible for how you present them to your users.
9. Availability and changes
Endpoints are versioned under /v1/. Breaking changes ship as new versions with a 12 month deprecation window. We work to keep the service reliably available but do not promise uninterrupted operation on self-serve plans; current state is published on the status page. Custom plans can include a negotiated SLA.
10. Not medical advice
CoachLayer produces training and recovery guidance for fitness contexts. It is not a medical device and its outputs are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. You must not present them as such, and your product must direct users to qualified professionals for health concerns.
11. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Coaching outputs are generated by statistical systems and can be wrong; you are responsible for how they are used in your product.
12. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French law.
13. Termination
You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time from the dashboard; access runs to the end of the paid period. We can suspend or terminate for breach of these terms, for legal reasons, or with 30 days notice otherwise. On termination your keys stop working; billing records are retained as the law requires.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Disputes go to the competent courts of France, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or local rules that apply to you.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will give at least 30 days notice by email or in the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
16. Contact
